Our Science
Carver is leveraging Cas13 to target respiratory viruses at the RNA level. Our aim is to destroy the viruses, preventing them from replicating. Our therapeutics would act in concert with vaccination and viral inhibitors to treat patients to arrest progression of infection.
What is Cas13?
Cas13 is an RNA-guided RNase. The Cas13 protein uses a short segment of RNA to guide itself to mRNA where it cuts and destroys the mRNA in a sequence specific fashion.
